Responsibilities

A top business process outsourcing company urgently requires the services of qualified candidates to fill the position of IT Support Specialist.

Main Duties:  

  • Advanced technical troubleshooting of hardware and software issues courteously and expeditiously
  • Appropriately handle and track customer support requests via phone, e-mail, voice mail, IM, and in-person
  • Maintain daily IT operations within the office – ensuring System Uptime above 99.5%
  • Provide guidance and oversee activities of other Support team members, as requested
  • Facilitate on-site networking infrastructure tasks as directed by network administrators in other offices
  • Track and maintain end-user technology equipment, accessories, and network hardware
  • Second and third level support for laptop upgrades and installations
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and software lifecycles for compatibility with current systems
  • Assist users with software issues for a predefined set of software or solutions
  • Assist in planning of work unit IT architecture
  • Provide technical guidance to assigned customer base
  • Diagnose and resolve day to day operations issues – measured against the number of negative feedback from Client (both internal & external)
  • Establish and resolve connectivity issues within the company operational sphere
  • Facilitate users in obtaining access to systems
  • Implement security policies and protocols of the Company
  • Implement backup and recovery policies procedures
  • Assist with the assigned user account administration and file rights management
  • Research solutions using knowledge bases, white papers, and vendors documentation; serve as liaison between technical staff and end users to resolve customer/user problems and concerns
  • Develop and provide user training for basic software and hardware use
  • May administer servers and/or networking equipment
  • Assist in and provide information for strategic planning process at work unit or departmental level

Minimum: B.Sc/B.A

General Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical support role.
  • Certifications are preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
  • Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.
  • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.
  • Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.
