Enabled Business Solutions Limited, a Lagos based manpower and IT services company seeks smart, highly motivated and experienced Inventory& Asset Management IMS Lead for a contract position with our client, a major Multinational Oil and Gas company that specializes in provision of oil and gas exploration and production services. 

Job Description

  • Manages and supports all IST User Support assets (Workstations, network printers, PDA, etc) in circulation in JV in the E@SI or any other application used by the department.
  • Manages the department’s new stocks’ inventory and administers the Inventory Management Service (IMS) tool – E@SI or any other inventory management application approved by User Support management
  • Acts as Focal Point for Consumables in IST, while liaising with Procurement to ensure availability at all times.
  • Ensures that products supplied by vendors meet the right specifications and standards in line with the department’s standards / requirements.
  • Acts as the department’s asset management Configuration Item (CI) creator, creates new items in the E@SI database and updates regularly the CIs accordingly.  
  • Ensures regular updates of inventory forms from interveners in the inventory E@SI database.
  •  Keeps up to date database and track of all faulty equipment and contact vendors for the replacement and repairs of faulty equipment.
  • Acts as the point of entry and exit of all user Support materials in and out of the staging room & the store(s).
  • Coordinates Computers staging activities and ensures they are consistent with staging processes and procedures, while meeting User Support intervention and project demands.
  • Provides specialist guidance and some supervision to less experienced colleagues.  Analyse work-in -progress, take action to ensure targets are met within safety and quality procedures, including hand-over to clients where appropriate.
  • Produces reports of User support Asset at any time as may be demanded by the User support management.
  • Ensures that IT assets are properly identified, labelled and protected against misuse, abuse, theft or damage.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of new operational processes and procedures. Initiates action to maintain or improve installation procedures and standards within area of authority, recognizing issues that need to be escalated.
  • Manages and control changes to IT assets, performing tasks such as the prioritization and categorization of requests for change, reviewing and checking the implementation of authorized changes and ensuring that only authorized changes are implemented.
  • Liaises with User Support methods for consistency in the records of User Support workstation records in E@SI or any other inventory management application used by the department and AD.
  • Maintains proper mini-maxi levels of consumables.
  • Monitors consumable usage to reduce wastes or abuses, thereby saving costs for the company
  • Prepares, updates and circulates a weekly report of User support equipment inventory to User support management
  • Manages and sanitizes all User support IT damaged and obsolete equipment in preparation for scraping.
  • Works with the decentralized buyer and or any other approved team for scraping of obsolete items in accordance with the company approved processes and procedures during scrapping process.
  • Carry out any other task that may be assigned by the User Support manager.

General Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in the installation, maintenance and support of desktop and laptop PCs as well as peripherals and mobile devices.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of SCCM(Systems Centre Configuration Manager) to build and deploy workstations and applications.
  • Knowledge of the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc) and the IT applications and service processes used within the client organisation.
  • Understanding of the integration, service delivery and asset management processes within the organisation.
  • Possess Basic Offshore safety induction and emergency training qualifications required for those who shall be providing this service in offshore production and drilling platforms if required.
  • Proficient in the planning and management of the interaction between two or more networking systems, computers or other "intelligent" devices in a distributed environment.
  • Familiar with the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation.
  • Knowledgeable in monitoring the effectiveness of installation and ensuring that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
  • Ensure that change management and configuration management procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Understand the purpose and composition of a service level agreement (SLA); the relationship between an SLA and a CONTRACT for the supply of services.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and documentation and provides guidance for nontechnical users; provides training in all modes of usage of systems, products and services providing information on the full range of capabilities including dealing with exception conditions.
  • Ability to assist users in making more effective use of computer systems, software applications.
  • Investigating complex problem situations to diagnose underlying causes and helping users to recover or continue operation.
  • The use of proprietary tools for the recording, progressing and closing out of incidents and service requests.

General Requirements

  • B.Sc. Or B.Eng.
  • Minimum of 7 years requisite experience in Desktop and Mobile systems supportand relevant IT certifications.
  • IMS Lead User shall posses in addition, minimum of 3 years experience in similar capacity as IMS Lead user, with experience in IS stock management.
  • IT Certifications e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications including MCTS (with at least one client workstation oriented certification e.g. Windows Vista, Microsoft Exchange client e.t.c.), MCITP, ITIL and/or any other relevant IT certifications.
  • Ability to work long hours including public holidays.
