Our client, a leading transportation and logistics company is seeking for a self motivated and experienced Chief Operating Officer/ Director, Operations for immediate hire. The candidate for this role is expected to be able to:
Develop, coordinate and implement strategies and schemes that regulate effective and efficient urban mass transportation solution.Lead the strategic and operational plans process that assures continued sustainability, business growth and to oversee company ongoing operations and procedures. Act as the company’s second-in-command, responsible for the efficiency of business.Position objective
- To realize efficient bus transport regulatory operations through effective use of available resources to return value to the stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement the company’s business strategies, plans and proceduresSet comprehensive short, medium and long goals for performance and growth for the companySet comprehensive performance goals and ensure compliance to service level agreements by Franchise OperatorsProvide day-to-day leadership and management for operationsResponsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectivesInteract positively, collaboratively, and effectively with other related government agencies to ensure regular and efficient information update on operations.Guarantee that policies, Responsible for establishing internal and external processes and key performance indicators for the business and for their measurement and effectiveness.Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.Manage budget and expenses aligned to operational realities and business goals in line with LBSL constraints, procedures and policies.Analyze expenses and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.Recommend or authorize capital expenses for acquisition of new equipment or property in order to increase efficiency and services.Lead, direct and coordinate bus fleet operations tasks and activities with the effective and efficient use of equipment, facilities, and human resources.Direct and coordinate human and bus safety policy and procedures, and the process of determining causes of bus accidents.Determine and guarantee the optimal decisions on bus scheduling, jurisdiction and zoning, and fee and tariff increases or schedule changes in them.Direct and manage all aspects of bus franchising functions including rules and reform, eligibility requirements, infrastructure, agreement, operational monitoring and enforcement.

General Requirements
Required Qualifications and Work Experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in transportation/transportation management or logistics of which 5 years is in senior management role.First degree in Transportation/Transportation Management, Logistics, Engineering or Business related areas.Possession of a Masters Degree would be an added advantage for the position.Membership of the Institute of Transportation or LogisticsKnowledge/Skills
