Responsibilities
- The Chief Officer has authority for relevant marine activities such as berthing, and mooring. Depending on the complexity of the vessel, he may also be responsible for cargo offloading and engine room operations.
Roles / Responsibilities
- Implementation of Management System; Promote safety awareness and broad application of the Management System, codes of practice and prime policies;
- Ensure all relevant berthing or mooring activities are carried out according to O&M Contractor Management System or equivalent where O&M Contractor Management System is to be considered the minimum standards;
- Manage and Supervise Effectively; Maintain and monitor marines operations; Contribute to the Control of Critical Situations and Respond to Emergencies;
- Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures; Maintain arid monitor cargo operations.

General Requirements
- STCW Reg. AII/2 (Master Mariner Unlimited) plus DCE for Petroleum/Gas as appropriate; Proven Tandem Berthing experience at open sea berths or internally Qualified Berthing Master, (QBM); 5 years’ sea service on VLCC and 5 years minimum at rank of Master; Computer literate on Management System Office Software Packages;
- Medically fit to offshore Isolation standards such as ENG1 or equivalent; Good knowledge of offshore FPSO operations, including Production, Process, Utilities, Marine Maintenance, and Safety Management;
- Technical - Appropriate standard of technical, legal and professional knowledge as defined by competences;
- High level of commercial awareness; Practical familiarity with standard Office software package.
- Operation and use of Internet and electronic mail system.
